I have PS 7.0 and Photo Impact Pro 8.0 and I actually prefer the Photo Impact. I think it has more options and is alot easier to use. And you can get it at Best Buy for like $100. I think they even have a newer version out by now. :)

I am able to buy Photoshop 5.0 for $50 Canadian (if I hurry) from somebody who received it OEM with a camera a while ago, but already has Photoshop. It's unregistered, complete and legit. Here are my questions:
1) Can I upgrade this to Photoshop CS and how much is it?
2) Does 5.0 support RAW?
3) What's missing from 5.0 that's in later versions? Can I live without it?

I have photo shop 7.0 and I received a 30 day free trial of PS elements. I received it with a book a burchased of editing. Anyway.. I did not find many differences other than layout. One that I did find is red eye removal... I wish 7.0 had that one.... oh well just wanted to put in my 2 Cent.
I just went to my local University to purchase CS. I'm a teacher so I can buy educational versions. In mid-to late Feb. you can get the creative suite for $189! Not sure of the exact date.
I have a 30 day trial as well and at this point I'm finding that most of what I'm doing can be done in elements so I'll spend those hundreds of dollars on a lens for now...I'll upgrade later, methinks...
What are you talking about here? I checked Adobe's web-site and there is nothing that suggests that you can upgrade from Photoshop Elements 2.0 or whatever to Photoshop CS.
To find this, I went to google and entered "Sony Elements upgrade site:adobe.com"; this deal was the first link returned. You might be able to try this with other manufacturers to see if you can upgrade to CS for $299 as well.
