No, no, no. There is to be no deviation here. If there is no road-based sign on a post then give it 1.
It should preferably be an American 'STOP' sign but, if the shot fails that simple prerequisite, then opt for a score of 5 or below. No messing. No prisoners.
Not all road signs are on polls or posts tho. Some are on brick walls etc.
A road could mean more than one thing, the piece of pavement/gravel that you drive on or an immaginary road. From looking at the images in this challenge some have interpretted the challenge using the latter.
why are you voting down for blur automatically (If thats' what you're saying)? Blur can be, and often is, a valid creative element in an image. "blurry pictures" of the dreaded snapshot variety don't fall into this category, but do please be on the lookout for creative and effective use of blur, as many people have clearly put a great deal of thought into this.
Robt.
Sorry I should have elaborated...I do try to see if it could be a artistic blur or mistake..Thank you for pointing out my error there, I need to edit better.
My driveway is a major pain in the back during the winter months, and considering some of my mutterings, could be considered a "Road to Perditiion" hehehehehe
I tend to agree with Imagineer...A STOP sign is the epitome of a road sign and 95% of the world does speak english (and those who don't aren't on this site anyhow) so it should likely be a STOP sign that wins.
Here's a measure. As school children with bicycles and later as licensed drivers we have often heard, "Obey all road signs!" So, a "road sign" would seem to be a directive to a driver that can be obeyed. Such as "stop" "yeild" "no thumbing your nose at other drivers while in the passing lane"
(Using this as your measure might prove to be a rather strict interpretation for this challenge, however.)
