I finally finished voting for the 04 challenge, I gave out 10 10's and really enjoyed viewing most of the entries. My score is at 6.25, so I'll be lucky to finish in the top 50, so many good images.
I honestly believed I had a very good image,,, worthy of at least a 6.0 but it seems I was very much mistaken. On the good side, I am very new in this realm, and I have improved my score with each of the four challenges I have entered so far.
Considering that these photos represent what the photographer thinks is their BEST all year, I'm looked through them several times (I have a lot of time at work ;) and I keep raising scores. I really hope others do the same and look at each photo individually. Especially the 5 through 8. (Each time I come back and view again (especially not looking at those I rated 9 or 10) I see more merit in the photos.

I'm very sad- I think very highly of my image, I predicted a 6.5. I'm currently at 5.6835. My last two challenge entries popped up a bit just before voting closed, in time to end higher than they had been through most of the voting- I'm hoping for the same here, but I don't see any way it can get above 6- or for that matter, even become my personal best score. How disappointing.
I estimated a 5.75, which is significantly above my overall average, and I was really worried in doing so. I'm actually scoring a lot higher than that. I'm so excited about it! I'm not in ribbon territory (6.5ish), but it's so much better than I expected. I really think I've grown a lot in the past 9 months. I think it's because you guys are always raising the bar and I have to work by butt off to keep up! ;o)
What Lauriel said :) Whilst I've not submitted for a few months I think coming here was the best thing I could have done to improve my skills. I was looking for my highest score in this challengs and (currently) .7 above my previous best.
Membership is up for renewal in a week and I can think of no better way to improve even more than spending $25 here

Me too, I guessed 7.1 and was being conservative :D. No where near that :(
Alhough the ones I don't like seem to do well. Go figure eh!
I'm very happy with my personal 2nd best of 6.4+ and going up all the time. But what matters more, are all the comments. Esp from ppl that I respect here and say that my photo is good. Gives me a nice buzz.
Just getting 300+ votes and alomst 500 views is a buzz in itself. Enjoy it while it lasts :)
Now I just need to jump in and vote on the rest of the challenge. I'm not a maniac so I wont even think about commenting on all of them. Even though that would probably be the best photoschool I could enter
wow. Lot's of ppl adjusting the scores at last minute, my score jumps up and down without extra votes, and even sometimes w/o extra views.
