This is more entertaining and I believe some terms are quite messed up. A Liberal has nothing to do with a Libertarian. A libertarian is closer to a conservative than to a liberal.
Another way is to show the driving philosophies of the main contenders.
Authoritarian are the property of dictators.
Libertarian believe in the full expression of the free will and civil liberties, but the problem encountered when does your freedom impinge on mine and vice versa. And is full expression of free will, let it all hang out, not open to dreadful cosequences. To their credit, Libertarian are not interested in distributing the wealth nor are they interested in social engineering. They appreciate a strong defense against invadors and they want no part of socialism.
The Conservative, wants a government as small as the Libertarians but they seek to protect the rights of others within a paradign of law and order. The conservatives believe that we are born with a God given right for the freedom of the human being. They believe in Capitalism.
The Liberal seeks to redistribute the wealth along the Marxist philosophy. It sees no advantage in maintaining a strong Arm Forces and basically have a disdain for the rich and big corporations, hence capitalism.
They lean towards the socialist state, hence the elimination of God and anything else to do with competition. They see too many defects with the way this country was founded. I mean, how can these retards have, "In God we trust" all over their money? How can they swear on a bible? This is why liberals are always impressed by dictators amd grant them great respect. Liberals feel that if you are free in your country it is fine, but if you are born under a dictatorship, well that is your fate. We do not belive in the crap that there is a natural yearning in the human heart to be free. That's the conservatives misconception. It then follows that Liberals seek to change the constitution to fit the socialist state.
Economically dead-center, halfway down the line toward Libertarian.

I associate Liberalism with Socialism. The Libertarian have nothing to do with any type of redistribution. I went from a liberal to a libertarian to a conservative and most of us find more similarity between Libertarians and conservatives. Please tell me what I have missed.

Smack dab in the middle of the lower left quadrant with Mandela, Gandhi, and apparently something like half the DPCers who have responded here.
What does this tell us about photographers? As a group? Seems curious to me so many of us are in that lower left quadrant. Maybe that's where artists live, the low-rent district? Kind of like a ghetto of the mind?
I think this is a very weird test.
It shows that I am just a tiny bit more right and north to Ghandi. That's totaly impossible! I am wayyyyyy right then him! In fact, politically, I am more right then Ariel Sharon!
The same goes to my economical views... Usually I am wayyyyy north to most people.
Oh well.... lucky me I just avoid any argument in the matter.
I do agree though, that most intellectuals are somewhere in the left aouth of the diagram. So I guess the company here is very good :-)
