everything just right, thingfish. you do this so well, I wonder if now you should take a step towards simplifying, abstracting, or reducing the number of elements. I don't want to just be there; I want it to grab me. this may make no sense at all, of course.

what postman said, and I love the balancing contrast of rough dark foreground and ethereal almost vanishing water and sky and the pencil line that separates them, not to mention that tiny moon that draws us through.

I like the framing with the trees on the left and the spit of land on the right. While a nice scene, I wonder if zooming in closer on the pier and the moon would increase the impact of those subjects.

Congrats on this striking minimalist find. A well-earned ribbon indeed. And as a side note: This is one of those rare instances where I think the border amplifies rather than diminishes the composition. Makes me want to rethink my assumption that borders usually take up pixels better reserved for the image itself.
