Comment by tnun: Dipsacus fullonium/sylvestris, commonly known as fuller's teasel. Formerly used in the wool industry (fulling?), and also used for medicine, but only from the first year plant (presumably the one that doesn't produce the prickly head). Birds feed off it, and butterflies, but still it is listed as invasive...
