An appealing image that contributes well to the open challenge
A great sky that you've done well to bring out the lovely detail without blowing the highlights. The sliver of foreground serves well as an interesting base that has plenty to keep our interest until we inevitably look up to that fascinating sky whose textures and variety of colours are really quite captivating. Congrats on the top ten finish, Janine!
Nice blend of colours, I can only imagine that you and/or helpers were grabbing coloured LEDs and having fun making short sharp moves with them. Simple and effective. The red curves pin the eye, which is then free to wander over the rest of the image and enjoy it.

Nice fireworks shot, pretty colours, the red white and blue. Good exposure, really nothing to complain about with the shot itself. I think though that the lack of a physical setting, with people watching/cityscapes in bg to give it a sense of place, that this shot has fitted itself into a very generic category. In that while an excellent shot, there is nothing to give the viewer to relate to. That relatability is so important!
