Comment by jomari: I'm sure you could wrap a sci-fi story around these invaders. This shot, which shows them up so clearly, is a good illustration of the lifestyle of mistletoe. We have it here too, where it invades the eucalypts and mimics them in appearance. It eventually weakens and kills the host trees.
