I love the idea here. There are so many stories and visual aeas of interest. The OOF wall nicely draws my eye to the figure. Perhaps too many visual elements as lines, shadows, and lights are all fighting and drawing my eyes away from the figure.

the excess white space detracts from this image, in my opinion.
you could easily lose 60% of the bottom white space and still convey your 'on-the-floor'-ness
when defocusing on the screen and simply staring at the dog, the negative space fades and the remaining image (top 1/3 of the overall image) is all that remains visible. i find that remainder to be a far superior image to the entry with the extra bottom.
