Light Paintingby ericwooComment by UNTITLED: Nice composition and good use of light. My preferences would of been for the flower to be less soft, but I still like the way you chose to present. |

Not one of your better photos. The veins are so bright that they seem to be almost blinding. It really even stops you from wanting to look at the rest of the photo. The shades of green are very nice though. |

Very nice perspective! This bridge looks sooo long! I love the name carved into the wood. I wonder if that's the designer or just some kid doing graffiti. The light and shadow seem to play nice together on what looks to have been a very bright day. Great job! |

I wasn't fond of this one mainly because the veins were so bright - to me it seemed harsh and contradicted the softness of the leaf. I suspect, however, that you did this intentionally - it just didn't appeal to me, or the intent didn't quite get across. |

I really like this kind of "perspective" shot and appreciate the double meaning with the perspective of time. The toning serves you well in that respect. My biggest nit with this is the opening at the other end so far over to the right - my eye wants it a bit closer to the "third" for balance. Nice textures and depth. Good to see you back in the challenges, too! |

The texture and range of tones in this photo, in addition to the obvious perspective displayed, are bonuses for me. The sepia color adds to the notion of the passage of time. It lends a nice historical feel to the image.
I'm not wild about the use of the fisheye lens, but I wouldn't discount it either. For me, the circular hint created by the lens clashes with the long lean lines of the covered bridge. Maybe because I grew up in New England I am a bit too conventional in my response to old covered bridges. This observation is obviously opinion and it's yours that matters in the end.
The detail in the wood is very impressive. And I guess Matt Crowe will forever be memorialized on DPC because of the detail you captured. Message edited by author 2006-07-20 04:32:59. |
