Waiting for Springby MelethiaComment by SandyP: Oh, I LOVE this photo. I always am drawn to close, tight-crops. This unique composition, plus the colors the style. . .this is "my" kind of photo and it very much says "country life". Excellent work!!! 10 |

Three treesby MelethiaComment by SJCarter: This is really nice. Very understated and elegant... almost delicate. Just the right amount of color gradient. Well done. Message edited by author 2006-02-11 14:53:11. |

ShadowGooseby MelethiaComment by SandyP: I like this photo!!! I actually think it may have done well in abstract. I guess the voters got pretty picky about the "your" shadow thing, huh? but it really is a very interesting photo. |

Abstractureby MelethiaComment by KiwiShotz: Even though I can tell what it is, I rather like the symmetry and compositon. The colours work too. What doesn't work quite so well is the depth of field. Since you were some distance (6ft?) from the lower cornice and perhaps 9ft from the roof edge, you should have been able to get all the planes in focus. You'd have to use the smallest aperture that you have available, at least F8.0. With the amount of light available, you'd still have had a shutter speed that wouldn't blur. |
