Comment by pineapple: Whimsical. You shouldn't have given way to the temptation of including an overt symbol - the heart-shaped iris. It cheapens the overall effect. Instead, you should have put into the distant background, out of focus, and badly lit, the reason for your (the model's) sadness. The hint is always more powerful than the overt, in my opinion. The hint of the story would have made it a dramatic portrait.
