Great bit of seeing here, with all the shapes. B&W works well with the full range of tones. Not sure I would crop this image square in general as cropping in from the top may be a more powerful composition.

Lovely moment. Well captured. I see you went for an environment shot here, but perhaps crop off the top 20-30% and make a panel of it for more impact.

Beautiful form, well composed and graceful. Lighting is tough here. Maybe lighten the shadows of you can to bring out the face/eyes. Or go darker for something moody.

I like it a lot. I do these kind of "focus on the wrong thing" stuff all the time. It really makes a shot special, although I suspect it will not score very high for the same reason. I really like the one dude who is waving rather than taking a photo.

I like the leaning buildings and the crosswalk and other markings on the streets. While the cars and the bikes are nice accents, I think your needed something as a subject to anchor the photo more. A pretty girl with an umbrella or a fancy red sports car or two would really make the scene pop.

Nice colors with the reds, browns, and white. Kind of some out of the box viewpoint as well. The glass dish and brown table to not really add to the interest of this image.

I am confused with why this placed so low. While I did not think it was a top pick -- I had about in the middle with my scoring. The 3 ladies tell an interesting story and it meets the challenge, unlike several other submissions. The background and the hand blocking the face were slight detractions, but in no way is the a brown ribbon photo. Ahhh welll.... DPC.
