Thishas an almost painted feel to it that i find pleasing. There is a bit of noise in the background, which is a shame. I think i would embrace the bold, almost pallete knife type effect that is going on here to make an eyecatching shot.

ps don't know whether it's her bike or she's wheeling it home for someone but that's a mighty high saddle !!

What a sweet sweet shot. Normally I think eye contact is critical, but in this case she is so engrossed that it makes it stronger not having the eye contact, it is like we are for a moment sharing her world.

Quite delightful.

agenkin I don't do a lot of letterbox crops, but in this case there was quite a lot of bright sky higher in the picture through the branches, and the brightness drew the eye away from where I wanted the viewer to look, so I chose to crop it down to keep it focussed.

Bear_Music A crop fromthe right might well be interesting as a different picture but I really like the shape and flow of these lower branches and a continuity that they give to the picture, so again i kept it full width.

However I did choose to crop the dog as I liked the dynamic effect it had on the picture, and the tension generated by the different reactions to the rain - one staying one going. this didn't come over as strongly when Archie was fully visible.

Anyway thanks again for the comments, glad others find it pleasing.

Tremendous shot. There is so much about this that I like, the single splash of colour, the receding bridge, the sharpness of the foreground against the softer distant background. Very impressive.

Having just read your write up it was a huge amount of work you did to produce this image, but I would say well worth the effort.
