A wunderbar photo: main figure well positioned against idyllic scene and the dog at peak of stance, the boy adding context. Great treatment of light and dark. An 8 at the very least, but more from people like me.

Should have saved this for the "Bad" contest. Thanks for the great gamut of comments on this last minute underexposed, unpolarized, unarranged and totally oversaturated image. It was born a dud, but I tried to milk it - fascinating what information there is in these bad shots - and then, ignominy, posthumous beat me with supernumeral mathematics out of total extinction.

Great shot. Wonderful subjects (no artifice in evidence) stand out against muted but defined background. Also fits my Platonic Idea of what a photo is. (Not sure about the frame: I'd opt for something more classic like white or black; the grey seems to merge with tree trunk on the right). (Disagree that it needs more contrast; the contrast is there where it belongs, in the subjects). At least an 8.

Stunning mirroring of shapes above and below, and subtle meandering of estuary. Like the yellow green on left horizon. (Okay, I'm not the only one to wonder what it would be like if the horizon were leveled).
