What a unique idea, and how bizarre two of you had it. My only suggestion for a possible improvement is to keep part of the skin clear, which may have an even greater impact.

Nothing (well, maybe except for the 3rd square) is seen in full (even the shadow lacks a hand), and yet nothing is missing. The ground texture make my eyes look for stuff.
