Sorry Peter, but all that comes to me is "I don't get it"... and it's not like others that I didn't get in that they still sparked some interest... I wanted to get them, they kept me looking, intrigued, that the photographer saw something that I didn't... they had something there to hook me... whereas this lacks that hook. Sorry to be so harsh. Just my opinion and worth about as much as you've paid me for it. :)

I think the last four commenters have said it all, and said it well. "Cluttered" and "undramatic". A different angle, or a different approach could have worked, or if you'd included a point of interest to compliment the branch... a person or animal. it's not a bad image, not by any definition, it's just not interesting enough, especially for the DPC crowd. They're tough!

Like Melethia's image, this makes me feel like I'm on my back in the park, but unlike hers, it doesn't feel unbalanced and thus, doesn't make me feel like I'm on the ground because I'm drunk. :)

What a great image. Don't feel I gave this enough of a chance when voting... looking at it now, I'm seeing a lot that I don't remember seeing before. Powerful. Beautiful. I can only apologise for not giving it the time, and score it deserves... i.e. should have been up there with my other favourites.

Nice detail and tones/contrast... While it's a "rather literal interpretation" it's not conventional. No surprise there though... one of the reasons we love you so. I find this image a bit unbalanced, personally... it feels top heavy and makes me feel like I've had too much to drink and laying on the grass in the park waiting for the world to stop spinning. :)

Nice take on the challenge, opting for the bank branch option, which was under represented in the challenge I feel. Great colours, detail and composition, but I feel it may have faired better with the voters if there was a human element within.

Nice image. Probably suffered because the squirrel is lost a little in the bark behind it (not uncommon for a creature to try to hide)... Great detail and nicely composed IMHO and deserved a bit more love from the voters.

I really like this... wasn't in my top scoring group, but was in the bunch JUST below. As we've come to expect from our illustrious leader, this is a wonderful work of art. Bravo! I love the mood, the emotion. Technically, the composition is wonderful...

Good capture and composition. Don't know if you could have done a little more to make the colour pop a bit more... regardless... is a nice take on the challenge, and a very nice photo. Well done.
