Yet another Team Suck member, treated too harshly by the voters, I feel. That said, I've found that my simple, minimalist images are very hit and miss, more miss than hit actually. I like the colour and the detail. Shallow DOF is a bit distracting though (IMHO). Composition works well for me. Think the voters were a bit harsh in this instance.

I have to say that I cannot even begin to comprehend how this image didn't finish MUCH higher. Great colour, composition, detail, use of shallow DOF (I love the bokeh) ... all excellent. Perhaps a tad soft at the end of the branch, but no way deserving of the punishment it got from voters. I think your title describes your treatment from the voters... "Ouch" indeed. :(
