Now THAT's a very clever use of a prop. I used to have one of those as a kid (did you use it for the 70's challenge?) Nice job of capturing the light without blowing it out. Hope this ribbons. 9 Would have given you a ten if the blue arc wasn't showing in the bottom right corner.

Ok...I know I've seen this statue somewhere before on DPC. Just can't remember where (tutorials?) Hmmm. As for this photo, the image could be rotated a bit to the right to make it level. Some curves/levels might help give the sky some impact. Also would consider a bump in color saturation. Good luck.

Neat statue, the photo needs some attention however. First, it's not level - the image needs to be rotated right to straighten the horizon. Second, it would have been better to reposition yourself to get the tree out of the line of sight instead of directly behind the statue. Repositioning yourself would have also eliminated the bush coming in on the right (or crop it out). The background is very hazy, perhaps shoot with some better light, or if not available make some processing adjustments via levels/curves.

Don't know what it is, but it looks pretty cool. Would make a neat abstract print.

This subject has so much potential. The composition of this looks like a tourist snapshot. If this is something near to you revisit when better lighting is available, dusk or dawn, and try some various angles (non centered as it currently is). If the sky isn't interesting try not to show it. I can envision a shot of this tighter in with the sun casting a shadow in the door frame? Very cool subject - I'm jealous. Keep having fun!

It's hard to use a monitor/screen as an artificial background isn't it? ;^) Did you pick a rooster on purpose?

Cute dog. As far as the photo is concerned I think it's a bit too shadowy for me. The wall in the background (upper-left) needs to go and the eyes looking up don't make for a 'portrait' type shot IMO. I'm not sure if you've done any post-processing yet, but the face, eyes particularly (right one), need to be sharpened - they're a little soft. I would've rated it a 5 in a challenge. Is the dog used to your camera yet? ;^)

Maybe one step to the left to eliminate the branches on the right from your photo? Why so small? This looks like a great subject to use all of the allowed 640 pixel width...
