Very nice with the blue color cast. This works well with the black and white on the watch. Great use of lighting and the DOF is right on with it fading from bottom to the top third. This should score high, but I think not having text will keep it out of the top three. I know text isn't required, but you know DPC voters...

Interesting. Definitely sends a message and a good one at that. Not sure that it's "Jewelry Advertisement"... I could see some non-profit or gov't agency picking up on this one. As a photo I like seeing the eyes in the background. The composition with the ring placement is very good. This must be a very shallow DOF, because the two primary knuckles are in great focus but the ring is just outside of being clear. Good job overall.

This is interesting. A refreshing approach to jewelry. The lighting and focus come together nicely. As for composition I would have tried to use all of the rock for background - the top left corner of this image is distracting and takes away from the photo. Maybe if the area behind the rock was solid black or white?

I think this would have come off better with a different color background. The green is distracting against the gold and whatever color the stone is supposed to be. The photographers hand is also quite visible in the reflection of the top right loop.

I take it the red cast is intentional? I like the photo in general. The off-centering of the watch I'm not so sure works in this case because there isn't enough negative space to the left - it looks like a mistake. Good lighting with the highlights and shadows. Just noticed, something is reflecting in the watch glass face starting from just left of the date over to what would be the 1...

Gutsy move - incorporating a person profile and jewelry in one. In this case the person wins, the jewelry seems to be a minor subject. If anything, this looks like a sunglasses advertisement. Well done for that - but for jewelry it's not quite right. Nice photo however...
