What I especially like about this one is the background that really suggests the event and keeps this from being static. The burning flame is a nice touch and though I can't really make them out, I have a sense that there are people moving back there, too. Very nice perspective.

Interesting, pretty, red, and tack sharp where it should be. Nice almost abstract. I can see this framed in an oriental restaurant or a dining room with an oriental decor.

I really like this -- like especially the fact that you show the scissors cutting. The very sharpest focus seems to be on the edge of cut fabric at the top -- I would love it to be on the scissor handles which are slightly soft imo (though that could suggest motion so I don't know . . . ). Nice entry.

Very nice focus and detail on the cardinal -- so lovely of them to hang around for winter pics as they are so showy against the often neutral backgrounds of that season. I find the two right to left golden diagonals distracting but I also know you have little to no control over stuff in the way of a capture like this. Good image imo.

Such a cutie and the focus is perfect. Love all the red touches in her outfit -- the white shirt and tights keep it from being too much. I might have liked it better if she was looking at the camera but that doesn't keep it from being a top pick.

Really like the set-up, the shriveled pomegranate, the selective color (may be natural as I see some aqua in the background), the simplicity of the composition. The fruit is very centered, but I don't see another crop for this shot that I would like better. This will score well for me.
