I think this is beautiful -- the lines, light and especially colors are luscious. I can well imagine an interior designer creating an entire space around a very large canvas of it. In my top 10.

Sometimes I think a title does make a difference and that is the case here. This is my favorite entry in the challenge -- the tones are wonderful, the setting adds to the story, the lines are excellent, it evokes an emotional response in me. 10

A pier to herself

I loved this image and gave it a 9 -- hard to believe only one other person did. I ran out of time and didn't comment but I thought it fit the challenge well. It's true that many of the entries were on the sad or depressing side of "alone", but the challenge description said "a feeling of loneliness or solitude" so I had no problem with your interpretation. I love the angle, the detail is great, and you were both obviously up early and taking advantage of the hour. Very nice capture IMO

One of my 9's -- obviously I thought this should have finished way higher :) Beautiful woman, wonderful focus. I found the alone in a crowd idea a nice take on this challenge.

Beautiful light, pose, tonal range. This has a candid quality that I really like. Wish you had the feet but since I'm thinking this may well have been "found" and taken quickly, that they are cut off is almost a plus rather than a minus. A top pick for me.

One of my favorites of the challenge -- maybe my favorite. I love the black and white, the ascent of the steps and leading lines of the rails and banisters, the light, the pose. Perfect title - go Milne! 10

I wish there was more color in the sky but I love everything else about this -- the tones, flowing lines and shapes of the sand, the unexpected concreteness of the structure, and of course the tiny camel and rider that bring a wonderful sense of scale to the image. 9

The Eternal Wait

A 10 from me. That's a lot of space between the door knob and the bed, but I see it as emphasizing the long time suggested in your title. Excellent detail and expression/pose on the dog and the perspective is great.
