I always enjoy Pemaquid reflected in the tidal pools - the lines and textures in those foreground rocks are just terrific. Slightly over-sharpened around the trees but very nicely done. One of my top 10.

Roots and Lighthouse, Point Fermin

This is not my idea of an Ansel Adams subject or composition (I am no expert and may be wrong), yet it is an image that I suspect he would have liked a lot. The light - late afternoon, maybe? - on the roots, trunk and branches of this very interesting tree is beautiful, and I am quite taken by the way you used that to frame the lighthouse and out-building. The tonal range might have been just a bit stronger but there's such nice detail even in the shadows. One of my top 10.

This is one that I kept bumping. I really like the strong contrast between the shadow and light areas - the leaves and reflections especially just seem to be dancing. I could use a bit more detail in the highlights on the trunks. One of my top 10.

Though I am far from an Ansel expert, this does not strike me as a typical subject; however, that does not detract in the slightest for me. The lighting, crisp detail even in the shadows, full range of tones from white to black, textures and compositional balance make this entirely suitable for the challenge IMO. In my top three.

This one has it all for me - a great scene with interest throughout WITHOUT a cluttered look, crisp focus from front to back, and an excellent tonal range. Having an "Ansel-like" subject was not one of my requisites for an excellent score, but it sure doesn't hurt. In my top three.
