Enjoying Good Oil on Canvasby LanceWComment: I like the thought here but the grain doesn't work too well and the placement makes the composition awkward.I know you probably couldn't use flash, but heck-color oil paintings would mostlikely work better here. I do think you have some nice textures and great exposure otherwise. |

Bad Conditionby oijuliaComment: Great rust textures. Could be in better focus, its a bit too soft. I do, however, like the placement of that fishing net. good luck. |

Marlboro Worldby flavsComment: This is so good on so many levels; it just couldn't be staged without an extremely disgusting level of difficulty. TheDepth of focus and the bum in the back left is nice.
I would say, I am about as anti-smoking as you can get; and cigarette smoking is a nasty habit; but hell, its a bit wrong to call this "marlboro world," for several reasons. Firstly, Marlboro are not low end cigarettes. Most Bums would probably smoke generics.(f there was a bottle of Grey Goose on the ground would you get away with calling it "Grey Goose world"? probably not.)
Also, Cigarettes may be the ultimate gateway drug, but its mental illness or drug abuse that makes you end up shoeless in trackpants under a bridge somewhere, not Marlboro cigarettes. "Crack world" or "gas huffing world" or even "schizophrenia world" would be better titles.
Sorry for the long tirade; I do like the picture alot. best of luck. |
