I think this was a good idea, but there are a couple of things which I think detract from its aesthetics: 1) perspective,the angle makes the head out of proportion, 2) the posterization effect; 3) the color (combined with the posterization).

Good compoosition and photo overall. The only minor criticism I have is that while it looks good high key, there's something slightly distracting in the ground cover: the slightly overexposed snow, interacting with the brown grass, especially in the foreground, where the background pattern is broken, grabs my attention from the main subject.

Good combo, and good shot with interesting light. A bit too close on the right crop though, and the closeup, almost centered might have been more interesting with a different composition. Overall, still very good.

Good capture of the moment. Overall a good shot, but there needs to be more light on the ducks face and eye (or just underexposed there).

Nice idea overall (a good pairing, needle and thread!), good idea for directional light here, but it looks overexposed on the spool, and it might have been good to have all the thread highlighted (it crosses into the dark areas in the foreground and on the right.
