The Silence in His Eyesby GudjonottoComment: Coming back to comment after already voting, this one pulls at the emotions. What is his story? did he have a happy life, I seem to think maybe not, I could be in entirely wrong but, I’m sure there were happy moments. |

No I did not receive seven votes in the last three hours. I received four votes, when I viewed the score three hours before rollover it was on 7.04 and after you voted it dropped to 6.88. As an administrator I would expect you to be more encouraging, but encouraged is not how I feel!! Message edited by author 2026-01-09 01:20:47. |

My Father, WWII Air Force Captainby RefocusedComment: What a story, thanks for sharing. Seems a lot of war heroes choose to not talk about the war. My nonno was part of the lighthorseman and he would often recall stories with us as small children. We loved it.
Your father was a very handsome man. BTW I didn't think the photo was underexposed, seemed to me it was edited with that purpose in mind to convey an impression.
Was in my 2nd round of picks. |

The Now-Empty Seat by LydiaComment: I clearly remembered that photo!
So sorry Jack is gone, that was a shock to hear, although we know eventually it happens.
Congratulations! Oh, I didn't notice the floor board tilt one bit! Sigh!! My emotions were overwhelmed instead. |

I bet this looks cool up close where we could possibly see more of the photo the child is holding. Doesn't quite come across on the voting page at the scale needed to really show it. |
