Michelangelo Reduxby mefnjComment: Ok -- this is a riot. But makes it quite worthwhile is the pose of the woody's hand. It's brilliant! |

Pushing Up Daisiesby RefocusedComment: Such a great idea, but the processing really gets in the way. it's made it rather flat and lifeless when it could have been such an alive photo. :( |

Homeward Boundby PenelopeKComment: I'm amazed that anyone would say it's too busy -- it's the busy that makes this absolutely fascinating. Not sure about the noise -- but I've been getting hypersensitive about noise because of my 7D. But that seems a bit too distracting. But it's a marvelous find and a marvelous catch. Congrats on the HM! |

bag on a breakby TinyComment: Ok. I didn't even notice the bag, because I was looking at the people.
I read the title.
I see the bag.
I like the idea.
The placement just doesn't really work for me.
So close and yet so far. 6 |

Avoid Distracting Elements by hahn23Comment: I agree with the post not being a distracting element -- it tells the story. That being said, what a truly wonderful capture! I'm so glad to have seen this shot. Truly magnificent!

"Avoid centering your subject" by Bear_MusicComment: Originally posted by Beetle: Ugh. This is a beautiful shot full of adorable detail and beauty.
And yet, major shoehorn!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know full well that while you might have broken one rule re centering, you totally adhered to the fact that diagonal lines work way better than horizontals or verticals, and let's not forget the main one: "Fill the frame".
Good thing I didn't vote..... I would have started off very highly for the lovely photo, yet felt compelled to dock you for the shoehorn reasons (see above). |
Hehe, Beetle hit it on the head! This isn't centering, this is filling the frame -- no broken rules here!
That being said, I am sooooooooo jealous!! OMG, what an incredible opportunity. I would love to have a hawk in my backyard! Truly fantastic catch. What a wonderful expression!
Even if it is a shoehorn. :P |
