Bird of Paradiseby CubComment: I did recognize the plant; that's why I thought it would be better if he still had his array of bright colors...the leaves can be grey or green or anything else -- they are recognizable in silhouette if at all.
Maybe you could repeat this shot when the plant's in bloom. Position him so he hides the "head" of the flower while its "crest" sticks up behind him. Then call it "Bird Of Paradise Wannabe"
(Author's edit)
Hmm...I just now read he IS grey...sorry to give you a useless suggestion! Maybe you should just airbrush him in Photoshop... Message edited by author 2003-02-11 01:38:44. |

Cute Pet Cliches ?by GordonComment: Very nice portrait, although it might have been more "cliche" to zoom out a little and catch the tongue in full extension.
I want to tweak the tones to make the head pop out a bit more from the background, but don't know if it really can be done. It has a kind of hazy look to me, like a bit of cyan cast in the shadows or something... |

Bedtime Bouquetby GekkerComment: Love the lighting...try running this through a "Canvas" filter, add a gilt-look frame and print this. |

It Never Gets Oldby ChuckieComment: Looks like a lot of sharpening has given this almost a painted/drawn look. If deliberate, you maybe could have gone a little further, but if you're going for photo-realism I think less sharpening would work better. |

...A Few Dollars Moreby tfarrell23Comment: Darn, I just had a movie title to interpret, and this one's predecessor would have been sooo easy...Really like the exposure/lighting, not so sure about the slant... |

A beatiful day playing in the snowby bcncrazyComment: Cool hat -- where's it from? Snow got a bit over-exposed; when I (rarely) shoot snow I usually expose for it and then compensate for everything else (too dark) later on. |

picture perfectby Wheeler1992Comment: What a good idea...I have a big empty frame lying around...I think you could crop at around the knees and tighten things up a bit -- I don't think the bottom part adds that much. If he'd been sitting 6 inches higher it would then allow a landscape crop with all the important elements still in there.Moving a bit to the right to reduce the apparent slant of the shelf would make it easier to crop too. |
