Victorian Eleganceby OneSweetSinComment: I like the intricate shadow patterns, but I think the ornament(?) comes across by far as the dominant subject. Maybe shooting with the light at a lower angle or positioning the glass partly out of the frame would emphasize the shadows more. |

Walkby jimmythefishComment: A "classic" composition shot from an unusually low angle; good job keeping a "crispy" look even where it's pretty dark and just out of the focal plane. |

Into The Unknownby GeneralEComment: Thanks for all the comments. Lego-guys have usually done almost as well as the little wooden action figures.
For everyone who wanted the comparison, here is the color original:

South Head Lighthouseby stuartComment: Would look good as a painting ... I wonder if the terrain would allow for positioning the tower a bit off-center to the left. |

C-5 Galaxyby thelselComment: Did you wait for that jet to fly by or was it just a coincidence? Good job controlling the sun ... I've been shooting a lot of backlit flags lately myself -- it's an interesting "challenge." |

Gazing...to be a Star!by SonifoComment: Effective use of unusual perspective for a portrait. Flesh-tones look a little grainy to me; I might try either smoothing them, or (post-challenge) running a Canvas (or similar) texture filter to give it a painted look and make the grain more "acceptable" to the average viewer. |
