The Sword in the Stoneby moodvilleComment: Originally posted by blindjustice: fantastic... but the blade of the sword shows digital flaws. The focus could be sharper too. |
Are those "flaws" a partial reflection of your face?
I think I'd have solved the "centering" problem by having the sword 10-30 degrees off from the vertical towards the right; but maybe that's because I remember once reading a version that had a drawing like that. I think I've also seen it where the sword went right through an anvil and into the stone on which it was mounted.
I like how you did the background, but the lighting does make it look a little like a museum exhibit, rather than a scene from a Middle Ages village. |

No Visible Means Of Supportby GeneralEComment: Originally posted by pcody: I like this. It reminds me of the old days. |
Thanks, me too! I too this opportunity to review all those comments -- seems more poeple liked this than I seem to remember ... I flipped it to try and give the impression of taking the photo while suspended out in midair away from the wall.
For everyone who wanted to know why I messed with the color so much, here's the bland original (linked from pBase):

Walk a mile in my shoes...by WILDBLUEComment: Originally posted by jmsetzler: Greetings from the Critique Club :)

I thought that was now the option of the reviewer, but I see you can't help being helpful ...
Definitely looks like it would be a trial to walk in those. This has been reminding me of an bad old take-off on the saying:
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you'll be a mile away, and you'll have their shoes. |

Call of Dutyby Dim7Comment: Originally posted by 50 Mission Cap: brianlh ... tell me you are kidding about the "fake lips" comment??? |
At screen resolutions that flower closely resembles those oversized wax/plastic lips commonly found around Hallowe'en as part of costumes. I had somewhat the same impression, not knowing the Canadian tradition about the red poppies ... and something symbolic of a farewell kiss is often a part of war-related imagery. |

Corn will be free one dayby ajacoubComment: That's some corny humor there. Nice texture and color; a couple of kernals look over-exposed ... post-challenge I'd try using the Burn tool to take the glare off of those. |
