The bench is slanted -- it would look far stupider (IMO) to have the bench level and the reflected rooflines slanted ...
Maybe I should re-title this "Now I Feel So Blue" :) |

One Monkey Short of a Full Benchby GeneralEComment: Well, since I am red-green color-blind, I always have trouble with blues and purples. In this case, I was relying on Isaac's opinion that the monkeys themselves had a dusky purple color to them, somewhat like elderberries ... I can't really argue the case either way from Photoshop's densitometry info, as the borderline between blues and purples is so nebulous. |

Griller in the Mistby GeneralEComment: Originally posted by AndrewWest: First off might I say to you ... |
Thanks, I think you have the right idea, except for suggesting I make Isaac stand in a cold shower!
That wasn't really necessary anyhow, as I've apparently fooled you with (as I recall) a Photoshop effect and not real lens fog ... there was no "mist" as the shower was tepid, and I think I had to use the flash to get a decent exposure, freezing the large drops (not very mist-like). |

Clouds at Sunriseby GeneralEComment: Originally posted by cris: Top edge of tree in the middle of the bottom half of the image looks very un natural |
Thanks, I never noticed that particular abberation. I think it's caused by the light coming through leaves seen mostly edge-on, but it was probably made "worse" by the small amount of sharpening I did, although I was trying to avoid any haloing. I suppose I could also try blaming it on JPEG artifacting ... |

Sunrise Panoramaby GeneralEComment: Originally posted by joanns: I have always wanted to capture sun rays like this but I never see them when I can stop to take a photo. I really love this shot. I love the clear blue in the sky and the way the light just fans out over the horizon. Very nice. :) |
Thank you! I actually took this while driving (crawling) through commute-hour traffic!
I finally set this up as a printable image ... the image is so small I set it up like a "motivational poster" ... went searching for suitable quotations and found two ...
Dreamers ...

flirtaceous. by theodor38Comment: Given the subject's apparent interaction with someone off-camera, it seems odd to have al the negative space off in the other direction -- I'm expecting to see other people lined up at the bar or something. I think you could crop all that off into a standard vertical aspect ratio without compromising your theme at all. Lighting, exposure, focus, expression are all great. |

Samby rhipsterComment: Combination of pose and border really make the subject look "boxed-in." Makes me wonder if that's an expression of the personality of the model or the photographer. |

Contemplationby waterliliesComment: I like this as a candid shot. For "portrait" (especially if "studio") I think it would be stronger if cropped to just a head nad shoulders shot, with her lips at about the lower-right 1/3-line intersection. |

Send in the Clownsby Prime_TimeComment: Reminds me of a "backstage" shot, nice and moody. I'd have used a much darker blue or black for the outer border. |
