Conception, Creation, CDby wkoffelComment: One of the more interesting ways to use a CD in a photo. Despite the "incorrectness, I'd have considered flipping it horizontally so the music was right-reading and not the mirror-image. |

Rays of nightby tkalectComment: Nice job -- I've been trying to get more shots of rays but mostly in the daytime. This gives me ideas for trying it at night.
Was that really a four-second exposure? |

New Photographerby scalvertComment: Kids often have a good eye for interesting shots ... she looks just like she's composing the photo mentally before shooting it. I look forward to seeing her work. |

abandoned carby alptraumComment: Using selective desaturation is a tricky thing. In this case, it almost makes it look like a collage, which could dilute the impact of the car's location.
However, without seeing the original, it's hard to judge if anything else would work better. Other things you might try are fading the background color (going to pale pastels or maybe sepia-toning) instead of going to pure B+W, or reversing the effect and having the landscape in color and the car desaturated.
I really like the overall idea and composition; terrific landscape and clouds. I hope you took a few shots without the car too : ) |
